Oakville CPA Firm Career Opportunity

Our office is currently seeking a highly motivated Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) to join our firm.

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Preparation and review of year-end compilation, review and audit engagements files from start to finish for clients across various industries, including preparation of the financial statements and note disclosures independently
  • Preparation and review of corporate, personal and trust tax filings
  • Preparation and review of annual T-slips (i.e. T4’s, T5’s, etc.), as well as HST, WSIB and EHT filings
  • Research accounting issues in accordance with the accounting framework and make recommendations on proposed accounting treatment
  • Communicating directly with the Canada Revenue Agency on tax related matters and client enquiries
  • Communicating directly with clients as necessary, including leading meetings with clients, presenting audit findings and recommendations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, including bank reporting, tax filing and client requirements as well as managing these items for staff
  • All other related duties as assigned

Experience and education:

  • Completion of a University or College program with a focus in accounting
  • Must have at least 3 years of accounting experience working in a Canadian public accounting office
  • Completion of the Chartered Public Accounting designation
  • Strong understanding of our accounting software programs’ including CaseWare, CaseView, TaxPrep (T1, T2, T3 and Forms), QuickBooks and Sage
  • Thorough knowledge of ASPE, ASNPO and the Income Tax Act
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong organizational and file management skills, with the ability to balance working on multiple client assignments at once while meeting deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate with clients
